Places are still available on the Nuclear Institute Young Generation Network’s Rough Guide to Nuclear New Build 2011 which will be taking place 05 – 07 October 2011. This year’s seminar includes visits to Sheffield Forgemasters, The Nuclear Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre and an optional day trip to the Flamanville 3 construction site, France. The aims of the seminar are to provide delegates with an overview of the proposed nuclear new build plans in the UK and to also understand some of the drivers behind it. Organisations speaking at the event include: EDF Energy, Horizon Nuclear Power, Westinghouse, Balfour Beatty Vinci, GE Hitachi, Office for Nuclear Regulation, Nuclear Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre, Nuclear Decommissioning Authority, Environment Agency, Burges Salmon and PPS Group . The keynote presentation will be from the Office for Nuclear Development, Department of Energy and Climate Change.

If you’re interested in attending the seminar then please take the time to book so you don’t miss out. A very limited number of places remain on the Flamanville visit. Due to the security requirements for the Flamanville trips, bookings must be received by Monday September 05 2011 to enable clearance for the visit.
